Psalm 84:11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor. No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly.
Really? Maybe our definition of uprightly is different than Yours. Or maybe it is our definition of a good thing that is different than Yours. Maybe, we think that we have everything figured out and the truth is that we see dimly, bits and pieces. We try to explain and justify our hurts and our disappointments, but could it be that the very things that hurt the most are the things that are the best for us? The things completely out of our control can be what draw us closer to You. These hurts extend an invitation to partake of a mere fragment of all that You faced while here on the earth fully man and fully God. We all have experienced trials of varying degrees. I say often that I have walked through things on this earth that I would not wish on my worst enemy. I also honestly say that it was through these trials that Your treasures surfaced. Jewels that I could not have known existed were unearthed and have drawn me closer to You and converted me into a better person. The mining of these jewels exposed worthless boulders requiring excavation and revealed a brilliant reflection of You within me that I was unaware existed, so today I choose to thank You for the treasured transformation of me.
Father God, please enable me to see Your hand in the midst of every day. Please invade my circumstances with Your Hope, Your Peace, and Your Love. In Your precious son, Jesus name, amen.
1 Corinthians 13:12 (VOICE) For now, we can only see a dim and blurry picture of things, as when we stare into polished metal. I realize that everything I know is only part of the big picture. But one day, when Jesus arrives, we will see clearly, face-to-face. In that day, I will fully know just as I have been wholly known by God.
